Miller Farm
Miller Farm was opened to Earlham students in the 1970's to be used as a tool for the schools agriculture program. During the school year, students live at the farm and cared for the gardens and animals. They host “Farm Day” every Saturday at 10 am where they teach visitors about the farm and have activities like cider making, cleaning out chicken coops, and working in the gardens. While visitors work, house members make breakfast for the whole crowd.
This summer, Earlham's Office of Sustainability received a grant that allowed for the creation of a summer Sustainable Agriculture Internship. The Interns are expected to attend market, make a certain profit each week, record yield and income, improve the organization of the farm, etc. This summer we have 4 full time interns and 1 part time intern; they are: Bailey, Zoe, Natalie, Ellen, and Mishel. Here is a video of the farm girls getting ready for Saturday farmers market! Thank you to the brilliant Mark J. Brim for this awesome video!
